Last night at Professional Photographers of San Diego County I was awarded 2 Merits for “Dig that Groove Baby” & “Violet” ! “Dig That Groove Baby” received “Best in Class” for the children’s category. Woo Hoo! These competitions are very important to me. They help perfect my skills and to get honest unbiased feedback. Once the images do well on the local level I will enter them into the Professional Photographers of California competition and then the International competition with Professional Photographers of America. I am on my way!

Sweet little baby face! I love the earmuffs. Her grandparents in Hungary will love this timless baby portrait! I love the white on white in this portrait. The colors make you feel like it’s snowy and then her cute little outfit makes you feel warm. Just precious and simple. What else could you ask for?

One of my favorites of the past month is this maternity session here. Robyn and her husband are such a fun couple. They kept me entertained the entire session. I have a special connection with this family now because Robyn’s due date was the same as my first born baby’s and she was a day late just like myself. Oh and just wait to see these baby pictures. They have a perfect baby!

The most important part of maternity photography and all photography for that matter is the light. The light is what shapes you, the subject. The light can be flattering or it can make things look very strange. I use all types of lighting patterns depending on what type of story I’d like to tell with the image. I thought this maternity portrait was very , simple and sweet. It captures a very special and almost fleeting moment in a mommy’s life.
